Snowden, the Lady in Red, Hacktivist...Thanks to new technologies (smartphones, mass storage, big data, etc), information now routinely flows past traditional boundaries, often surprising some of the players when it does, and giving them something new to manage. At a moments notice, a secret can be leaked or a story can "go viral." Every employee carries a cloud connected video recording device. Storage media have become incredible small, undetectable. The effects of this are varied, both good and bad. In some parts of the world, the transparency potential of ever- present, smartphone-based video capture makes thuggish political leaders think twice before committing atrocities. On the other hand, companies have increasing difficulty safeguarding their proprietary information.

In this seminar, we discuss the changing world landscape as it pertains to the control of information, and project that changes this new reality might have for business strategy and operations.
